A stream runs beside the farm and it&#8217;s so lovely to have the hills behind and to hear the constant sound of flowing water. There&#8217;s something so soothing about that sound.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4053\/4674746714_ae919e9989.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" alt=\"IMG_2498\" \/><\/a><\/br><br \/>\nThe highlights to await us<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4062\/4674794816_c1b9cd5f02.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" alt=\"IMG_2501\" \/><\/a><\/br><br \/>\nBut not without walking flights and flights of stairs first<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4062\/4674799178_8ea6470e37.jpg\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" alt=\"IMG_2504\" \/><\/a><\/br><br \/>\nMiddle Falls (I missed out Bottom Falls as I was at the back of the pack and I thought everyone had gone past Bottom Falls so I didn&#8217;t stop to look if they were there or not. In the end, I went ahead of everyone. How silly.)<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4016\/4674859012_a85b9b2fb9.jpg\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" alt=\"IMG_2522\" \/><\/a><\/br><br \/>\nMain Fall<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4001\/4674877558_fc36c0c050.jpg\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" alt=\"IMG_2530\" \/><\/a><\/br><br \/>\nOur last waterfall of the day &#8211; this one didn&#8217;t have a name<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4004\/4674929106_4ba3e16060.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" alt=\"IMG_2544\" \/><\/a><\/br><br \/>\nAfter the hike, we made our way to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kfbg.org.hk\">Kadoorie Farm &#038; Botanic Garden<\/a> which was just a 15-min walk away from the trail end.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4056\/4674974316_8cfb2672d2.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" alt=\"IMG_2559\" \/><\/a><\/br><br \/>\nThe farm practises organic farming and has a few pigs, some chickens, rescued wildlife like exotic parrots, eagles, monkeys etc. It also grows plants such as herbs, maize, vegetables among others. It&#8217;s a huge place and it&#8217;s a good place for the family to spend the weekend in such tranquil surroundings. And look at this sow &#8211; seriously, can she get any bigger???? How many piglets do you think are in there??<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4064\/4675000830_2dc7f2505b.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" alt=\"IMG_2561\" \/><\/a><\/br><br \/>\nThe vegetables being grown along the terraces of Kadoorie Farm.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm2.static.flickr.com\/1269\/4675037498_310e925c88.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" alt=\"IMG_2576\" \/><\/a><\/br><br \/>\nThere&#8217;s also a small farmers&#8217; market where farmers from the nearby farms come and sell their produce. I bought some cherry tomatoes and lychees and they were delicious! Us hikers couldn&#8217;t resist not getting these local produce. There is also a shop selling organic dried food stuff just next to this farmers&#8217; market.<br \/>\nThe Ng Tung Chai Waterfalls are really easy to get to and it&#8217;s another gem of a place I&#8217;ve discovered in Hong Kong. To get to the Main Falls, it&#8217;s basically climbing a long flight of stairs for about 1.5 hours and it&#8217;s definitely worth the climb!
