March has been a busy month and yours truly has realised that I have neglected my blog and have left it to rot in cyberspace in the past few weeks. Been busy with freelance work – proofreading some textbooks, writing and sub-editing for some magazines.
\nFor one of my writing gigs, I got to try out two luxury spas last week. Both are, most probably, two of the most expensive spas in Singapore so getting to try it for free was quite a treat. At one of the spas, I was hosted by a young 21-year-old PR executive. As she showed me around the spa, we walked past some bamboo trees that were in the part of the garden where yoga workouts were conducted. She pointed the bamboo trees out to me and muttered something about them. But guess what she called them? ‘Panda plants’. And she was dead serious about it. I was, of course, rather appalled that she actually called them that. What’s with the standard of English these days?
\nAnyway, March brought me two job offers, one of which I had accepted only to say ‘no’ a week later because I had gotten a better one after saying ‘yes’. As to what the better one is, I’ll write about it here eventually.
