Two weeks ago I trekked along the coast of Sharp Island<\/a>, a geopark within the Sai Kung peninsula. Yes, Sai Kung is my favourite spot in HK…I have spent many weekends there and I never get sick of the place. It’s just so incredibly beautiful and the scenery so breathtaking out there. I always recommend friends to go there to see another side of HK.

\nWe swam in this “pool” for awhile when it was filled up during high tide. A few hours later, the tide had gone down and the water level went down as well.

\nI found this cute octopus on one of the beaches we landed at. At first I had thought it was a ball and was going to take it to play with. Then I realised it was an octopus! We had a fun time posing with it for photos. And yes, my hair’s a huge mess.

\nUs walking along the tombolo (a type of sand levee that’s a coastal sedimentary landform) that links the main island to the small island of Kiu Tau. The tombolo is visible only when the tidal level is lower than 1.4m.
\nTo get to Sharp Island, take a ferry (HKD30 for return trip) from Sai Kung pier. There are a few operators so just choose any one. The ferries leave every 15min and the different companies differentiate themselves by the colour of the flag at the front of the boat. So when you’re returning, get onto the correct ferry as you’ll need to show your ticket to the boat driver.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
