I’m beginning to get used to being back in Singapore. The transition hasn’t been easy for me. Many good friends of mine know how much I love travelling, exploring new places & things and meeting new people, so being back in Singapore is like returning to the gallows. A bird in a gilded cage.
\nOccasionally, I still yearn to be in Sydney where space was in abundance, where the ocean was just a stone’s throw away and where society was more open. However I know it’s impossible, so I have to resign myself to being back here. To be fair, Singapore is not that bad a place to live in if viewed in terms of standard of living and I can’t fault Singapore for her lack of land and beautiful beaches. It’s just that I don’t get the same emotional and mental stimulation i get from being in a foreign land. I’m bored.
\nThere are decisions I have to come to regarding my life and future plans. However, these decisions are also bound by various constraints and obligations.
