For the first time in several nights, I don’t have to work on any articles! My brain feels free! I might or might not have mentioned this in my blog, but I’ve started doing a bit of freelance writing and I’m now trying to look for a full-time job as a writer. I want to start pursuing this interest of mine and I’m hoping that I’ll get the chance to do so.
\nTonight I can finally take a bit of a breather. February was an eventful month. I started teaching and taking on a few writing assignments. I’ve had to juggle teaching and writing, I went for interviews and got crushed like a cockroach in one or two of them, but I’m now stronger and wiser for it.
\nEmotionally, I’ve also had to come to terms with several circumstances in my life. It is still a struggle at times, but I’m trying to deal with things to the best of my ability. It helps that I have good friends, both in Singapore and abroad, to lend a listening ear, give me support and advice, and to put things into perspective for me when I’m feeling all lost and confused. You know who you are and I thank you for that.
\nBut anyhow, on to more trivial stuff – I always forget that I’m actually of marriageable age. Yesterday, a new student of mine asked me if I was married. I gave an incredulous laugh and said: “Me??? At such a young age???”
\nThen it hits me that I’m past 25, and friends of mine who are younger are already married. I still feel like I’m the girl fresh out of junior college, though of course I do realise I’m no longer the 18-year-old spring chicken. haha.
\nFor now, I really can’t imagine being married. It’s like such an adult thing to do! I guess maybe I just haven’t met the guy who has made me want to think remotely about marriage.
