About a month or two ago, a friend asked me if I could date someone who was shorter than myself, fat, balding and perspired a lot. Well, she was unsure whether or not she could go out with someone who was interested in her.<\/p>\n
I said to her it’s unlikely for myself to go out with someone like that because I need to be both physically and mentally attracted to a guy. And come on, I am not very tall (1.6m) to begin with. But that’s just me and others may be less superficial than me. I mean I am not asking for drop-dead gorgeous, but there has to be something I find attractive about the person even if others don’t see it.<\/p>\n
Anyway I told my friend to use this as a litmus test to determine whether the person was someone she could see herself with: imagine yourself French kissing the guy. Does that give you the creeps or a thrill down your spine? Can you even imagine the situation???<\/p>\n
I think that’s a simple and effective test, no?<\/p>\n
A few days ago a friend of mine in Singapore set me up with a friend of hers who was in HK for business. So she gave me his number and we arranged to meet for dinner. About half an hour before I was due to meet him, my friend whatsapp-ed me to say that this guy was in his 50s (!!!!!) and his hair was combed back.<\/p>\n
My eyes nearly fell out of my sockets when I saw that! That is just way too old for me but it was too late to back out. So I turned up anyway and was hoping against hope for a George Clooney-like figure to appear. Of course, George was nowhere to be seen and my dinner companion was a very avuncular figure whom I definitely could NOT imagine French kissing. Ok, I’m no spring chicken myself but 20 years older is just a bit too much for me to accept at this point in my life.<\/p>\n
I made dinner a quick affair and scooted home after an awkward evening. I don’t know what made my friend think he’d be a good match apart from the fact that he was rich and could provide well for me. Her intentions were good but this was definitely way off the mark. Anyway I have figured that as attractive as it sounds in having a sugar daddy and not having to worry about money, I cannot do the sugar daddy thing. It grosses me out just thinking about it! I can earn my own money, thank you very much.<\/p>\n
