It was one of many nice little cafes along Glebe Point Road which is very near my uni. The food was really yummy! And I thought I should write about two food items that I had there.
\nI have grown to love eating Hummus and Tabouli since trying them a few months ago.
\nHummus is a puree of chickpeas with garlic and spices added. Tabouli is sometimes also called “cracked wheat salad” as one of the main ingredients is bulgar wheat. This delicious salad is chock full of fresh flavours including parsley, mint, cucumbers and tomatoes.
\nHummus and tabouli are dishes native to many Middle Eastern countries and can be found in ethnic restaurants from Greek to Israeli. Ingredients may differ slightly from country to country but you’ll usually find these on the menu at Middle Eastern restaurants.
\nHummus and tabouli are really nutritious as well. So no fear of getting fat! Yipee!
\nBUT after lunch, I popped by this other cafe which sells really lovely cakes & pastries. These cakes, pastries and cookies are displayed like art pieces…Put on stands and covered with a glass container. Those cakes, pastries and cookies are such wonderful works of art in itself! Being the very weak soul that I am, I was sucked into temptation and ended up buying a piece of tiramisu and a scone. I shared the tiramisu with Xuemei (one has to split the calories!) and I had the yummy scone as a snack before class from 7 – 9pm.
\nWell, it was a definitely a very good day for my palate and my stomach!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
I had Lebanese food for lunch yesterday at this Lebanese cafe with my friends Charmaine & Xuemei.
