\nNah! Kidding! Haha! My mum freaked out when she read my previous blog entry. heehee.
\nAh well, voice whore I certainly am not but many of my friends think I’m a banana – yellow on the outside white on the inside. “Kantang” (potato in Malay) is the other term that has been used on me before.
\nOn Sunday, before calligraphy class, I met up with two ex-teammates from my junior college dragonboat & canoeing days. They were shocked when I told them I was learning calligraphy. They were like, “but that’s SO Chinese!”
\nIt’s like things Chinese and Joan belong to different circles in a Venn diagram. I think people tend to underestimate my proficiency in Chinese. Well ok, I’m not exactly the most proficient person but I’m not THAT bad. I guess it’s ‘cos I hardly use the language, reason being there isn’t the opportunity to do so.
\nAnyhow, I’m trying to keep up with Chinese these days by reading the Chinese newspapers online every other day. It would be a pity to lose it completely don’t you think?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
