Black peppercorn to get freshly ground black pepper \u2013 always great for some added flavour<\/p>\n<p>2. Lemons \u2013 nothing that some lemon juice and zest can&#8217;t give a lift to<\/p>\n<p>3. Eggs \u2013 great for whipping up a last minute dish and good for holding together vegetables like diced bell peppers and tomatoes<\/p>\n<p>4. Garlic \u2013 adds flavour to just about everything you cook it with. An ingredient that Chinese food can&#8217;t do without<\/p>\n<p>5. Rice \u2013 I&#8217;m Chinese. Nuff said.<\/p>\n<p>6. Vermicelli (aka <em>beehoon<\/em>\u00a0\/ \u7c73\u7c89) \u2013 this reminds me of Singapore; it&#8217;s easy to whip up with a few condiments and ingredients<\/p>\n<p>7. Salt \u2013 an ingredient that all dishes can&#8217;t do without; the basis of all seasoning<\/p>\n<p>8. Soy sauce \u2013 \u00a0Integral to Chinese food which I cook pretty often<\/p>\n<p>9. Olive oil \u2013 I use this for all my stir-fries and salads<\/p>\n<p>10.
