I decided to try making it myself cos I found the ones in super markets too expensive. And hey, it&#8217;s always fun to teach myself something new. <\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s how I did it:<br \/>\n1. Roast the raw cashew nuts in an oven until they are golden brown. <\/p>\n<p>2. Take them out of oven and pound them with a mortar and pestle to as small a bit as possible. <\/p>\n<p>3. Put the pounded chestnuts in the blender. Add some neutral tasting oil (I used corn oil) and salt. Blend until it becomes a smooth paste. <\/p>\n<p>You could use honey in place of oil and omit the salt if you prefer a sweet butter. I wanted a savoury one this time so decided on the salt instead. I spread the butter on toast this time, but I&#8217;m thinking it can also be used as part of a salad dressing.
