I had the most boring lesson ever last night. My Language Development class which runs from 7-9pm every Tuesday left my classmates and I bored to tears. The teacher for that module is so lousy. All he does is just have someone present the readings we have to do every week. I mean, it’s such a complete waste of time ‘cos people have read (they are supposed to anyway) the readings before coming to class.
\nClass time should be for discussion and exploring of what we have read. We were so passive last night, just sitting there and listening to things we have already read. And my teacher just let the people drone on and on when the presentations got too long. Aaarrrggghhhh…..it was pure torture.
\nSo for more than half the lesson, my teacher’s job was very easy. He just sits down. And he hardly lectures. When he does, he is reading off some sheet of paper. My classmates and I feel we’re just not learning anything at all! This way, I might as well have done my studies by distance mode.
\nAt the end of the lesson we requested to have presentations kept short in future and have more discussion instead. Thankfully, he agreed and said that he should have done that long ago! DUH! I just can’t believe it took him this long to realise how slow everything has been going and how boring it has been!
\nThis is the perfect example of what NOT to do as a teacher – Bore your students to death.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
