To this end, I finally caved in three weeks ago and had my work email synced to my personal smartphone after 10 months on the job.<\/p>\n<p>I did it because I was working on more projects with people in different timezones. And if I don&#8217;t reply to something urgent from someone located in the UK or US during my after-work hours, it would mean them not being able to give me the stuff I need to work on the next day. Such is life.<\/p>\n<p>Thank goodness I have an unlimited data plan, cos the company sure isn&#8217;t going to pay my phone bill. <\/p>\n<p>I guess this is what&#8217;s called work-life blend; that constant umbilical attachment to work. The trick, I suppose, is learning how to manage this blend so that it still leaves your mind and person time to switch off every now and then. And as I type this sentence on my smartphone on a Saturday morning on my way to a hike, an envelope icon indicating work email has just appeared on the top left corner of my phone. Now, do I read that email or not?
