You know it’s Spring in Sydney when you see pops of purple around. The jacaranda trees flower only in Spring and it’s a lovely spectacle. It’s like what pink cherry blossoms are to Japan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The small, delicate, trumpet-like petals form a purple carpet when they fall. The appearance of jacarandas reminds me of the passing of another year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don’t quite know what to make of this year. But I can say I have been lucky that I have been able to keep my job. I’ve gotten used to working from home but am frankly bored with having no one to talk to during the day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Social isolation shouldn’t be seen as something trivial. It’s a real thing and I have struggled with not being able to see my family and friends in Singapore in person for such a long stretch. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
