Sydney’s Covid numbers hit a new high of 319 new cases today. Sigh. When can we see the light of the tunnel? When can I get on a plane again? I miss Singapore, Hong Kong and seeing new places. Ah, that feeling of curiosity when one arrives in a new place. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
These days I look back at the ‘Memories’ on my Facebook account to look back at old photos and reminisce about the times I was hiking in Hong Kong and other places I had travelled to. Drawing on that memory bank brings some comfort and joy. Three years ago this time, I was on a hiking trip in Krygyzstan with friends from Hong Kong. On that trip, I also stopped by Hong Kong for several days before heading back to Singapore and then back to Sydney.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Perhaps this is what it will feel like when I’m really old and can no longer do the things I love. Like money, I believe building a huge reserve of experiences in your memory bank is important for old age and times like these.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I think international travel will take awhile to return to what it was pre-covid. I’d still be wary of going to less developed countries and would probably be avoiding those for awhile. But that’s thinking a bit far – I’d be happy to just be able to fly back to Singapore!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
