Wednesday marked the first day of spring in Australia and boy am I glad for the slightly warmer weather and the longer daylight hours. I’m not a fan of the cold at all and I can see why animals hibernate. There’s still a chill in the mornings but I no longer have to bundle up when I take my morning walk before going to my “office” aka dining table to start the work day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I wasn’t a fan of spring time in Hong Kong as it was a time when it would rain a lot, the humidity was extremely high and the dampness got to the bones. I remember droplets forming on my apartment’s tiled walls and the hung laundry would take ages to dry. The mountains would also frequently be fogged up while hiking. But the flowers that would start to bloom were extremely pretty. I remember the slopes of Ma On Shan (\u9a6c\u978d\u5c71) filled with pink azaleas and it was just gorgeous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lockdown restrictions have left little to do in Sydney. Every morning we go to the nearest mall to get coffee just to leave the home for a change of scenery. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of my lockdown activities has been to learn how to cook new dishes from YouTube videos. A few nights ago I cooked Thai basil mince pork stir fry for dinner. Turns out it’s super easy and tasty! Another dish now added to my repertoire. \ud83d\ude42 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another night I cooked Japanese curry with chicken and vegetables. Some people don’t think Japanese curry is real curry since it’s slightly sweet and tends to be mild but I love it and it’s so easy to make.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Making those dishes made me think of how much I would like to be able to visit Thailand and Japan again! <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
