An old friend – and one of my best friends – visited from Singapore with her husband and three-year-old daughter over the weekend. A and I brought them to Taronga Zoo and it was also my first time there. My friend and I also managed to get two hours of girl time for Sunday breakfast where we caught up and talked about life, societal issues, books and anything and everything. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
We have always been keeping in touch via WhatsApp and writing over the years. We have known each other since we were in secondary school so we go back a long way and have witnessed each other’s life journey. But a face-to-face meeting really amplifies the fact that in-person interaction is so much more impactful when it comes to connection. We both realised what we’ve been missing and were sad to say goodbye.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our meeting was bittersweet as we don’t know when we’ll next meet. She’ll be relocating to Scotland with her family and it’ll be a number of years before we meet again. But such is the life we have chosen for ourselves (or did it somehow choose us?).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
