Yesterday, I spent a lovely day with my classmate Joe and his friend Adrian. We met at Chatswood for lunch at Kam Fook restaurant. The restaurant was packed to the brim….people in Sydney love eating dimsum! And so do I!
\nI can’t say enough of how absolutely delicious dimsum is in Sydney. There’s so much variety, and the food is still served in pushcarts which have all but disappeared in Singapore. Half the fun of eating dimsum is waiting for those pushcarts to come round your table and peering into the pushcarts to see what they have to offer.
\nSo anyway, Joe, Adrian & I had a very leisurely lunch. We must have gone through several pots of tea and steam prawn dumplings, stewed chicken feet, egg tarts, barbecue pork pastry, soya beancurd dessert etc. We were stuffed at the end of it!
\nAfter lunch, Joe took Adrian & I to his house which is a short drive away from Chatswood in the suburb of Dee Why. Joe lives in a lovely house which has a lovely view of the Pacific ocean. The three of us even had a piano recital going ‘cos we discovered that all three of us play the piano. Haha…that was quite fun.
\nAfter that, Joe drove us to Dee Why Beach to have a look and we later drove to another lookout point called Long Reef. Oh, the views at Long Reef are gorgeous! It’s on a hill, and you get to see long stretches of beach, the ocean, and other headlands jutting out in the distance.
\nIt was an absolutely wonderful day and I want to say a big THANK YOU to Joe for bringing me around. And oh, he makes really nice tea too! He is so meticulous in his preparation…pounding the tea leaves and adding slices of ginger into the water. Me? I’m just a teabag kinda person. Just dump it in the cup of boiling water. Therein lies the difference between good tea and okay tea.
\nIt was also great to finally meet Adrian! He’s such a nice guy…..always adding encouraging comments in my blog and always surfing by regularly. I had a really good time chatting with Joe & Adrian and I hope we’ll be able to do this again some time before I leave for Singapore.
