You wake with
\nno aches
\nin the arms
\nof your beloved
\nto the smell of fresh coffee
\nyou eat a giant breakfast
\nwith no thought
\nof carbs
\nthere is time to read
\nwith a purring cat on your lap
\nlater you walk by the ocean
\nwith your dog
\non this cut crystal day
\nyour favorite music and the sun
\nfill the house
\na short delicious nap
\nunder a fleece throw
\ncomes later
\nand the phone doesn’t ring
\nat dusk you roast a chicken,
\nbake bread, make an exquisite
\nchocolate cake
\nfor some friends
\nyou’ve been missing
\nsomeone brings you an
\nunexpected present
\nand the wine is just right with the food
\nafter a wonderful party
\nyou sink into sleep
\nin a clean nightgown
\nin fresh sheets
\nyour sweetheart doesn’t snore
\nand in your dreams
\nand old piece of sadness
\nlifts away
