With all the typical French flair, France beat Scotland 51 – 9 in last night’s clash. Last night, I was one of the 78,500 spectators watching the rugby match at the Telstra Stadium.
\nThis game, compared to the Australia vs Argentina one, was a lot more fun to watch and cheer about because the Les Blues, as the French team is known, scored 5 tries! Thus, there were more chances for me to clap and cheer.
\nThe French deserved the victory. They outplayed and outclassed the Scots with their creative play, good passing and good running. And boy, were they Oooh La La! ;p
\nBut I think the real show for me was looking at the fans. There were many more Scottish fans compared to the French, probably about 60% – 40% ratio. Many fans both Scottish and French alike had their faces painted, waved their national flags, dyed their hair into national colours etc. The Scottish fans were more interesting as many of the men wore kilts and some brought bagpipes.
