So I started at my new gig today and it felt like being the new kid in school again. It’s a bit nerve wrecking. I spent the day getting my laptop set up and going through pages on the company intranet.

The view from the company’s canteen is pretty good too.

Pleasingly, we get free coffee made by the in-house barista! But actually I’m trying to cut down on coffee so that probably doesn’t benefit me that much.

Often I wonder how I always end up in such corporate settings when I’m really such an un-corporate person. Networking and making small talk is a chore to me and I’m not a corporate ladder climber. But we have to do something to feed ourselves so this is my way of doing so until I can figure a better way to do so. Or maybe this is the best way for me.

I hope I’ll be able to hit my stride again soon as my previous job left me feeling unconfident and disheartened about my capabilities.

Anyhow, here’s to new beginnings!
