Another spot to check out for those who want an easy hike in Hong Kong. This one goes up to the Mau Wu Deserted Fortress 茅湖廢堡 near Tiu Keng Leng. From Tiu Keng Leng MTR station, make your way to O King Road 澳景路 and walk up along the hill to the entrance to Stage 3 of the Wilson Trail.

As you walk up the trail, you’ll get a view of the Tseung Kwan O district from the section of the Wilson Trail that’s near Tiu Keng Leng.

And then we made our way to the Mau Wu Deserted Fortress which was built during the Qing Dynasty to look out for enemy ships entering the harbour.

Though derelict, the windows still offer a fantastic view of the Tseung Kwan O district.

The downside of having more people know about this old fort is that inconsiderate and un-civic minded people start defacing the fort by leaving graffiti on it.
