Rare are the times when a butterfly stays still for a few minutes, waiting for you to fumble for your iPhone from your rucksack to allow you to snap a shot of it, but that’s what exactly happened to me when I was at the top of High Junk Peak on Monday 1 October.
It was as if this orange butterfly with its black spots and markings wanted me to capture its beauty for posterity. And so I obliged.
As if it knew, a few moments after I had snapped the shot, it fluttered away. Ah, such fleeting moments of beauty…
