Enjoyed a bit of a treat last night. My supervisor at work let me go to a media preview of the Australian film A Japanese Story.
Now don’t be mistaken – there’s nothing glamorous about media previews. There’s a difference between a preview and a premiere. The former is where a small bunch of people from the media go to the cinema and get to see a film before its official release date. Reviews are expected to be written later. The latter however is when there’s lots of promotion of the film with local celebs turning up for the screening amidst the pomp and fanfare.
I was supposed to go with a colleague but she had to back out at the last minute due to some matter she had to attend to. So I was allowed to ask a friend along. Called D and fortunately she was free to make it at such short notice.
Anyway, I didn’t really like the film. Thought it was a bit too slow for me. I won’t go into it here as I’m still mulling over how to write a review. I’m so pathetic at writing reviews! Really need to go for some writing class.
After the show ended, I had to, tragically, head back to the office. My shift wasn’t over yet! Ah well, at least I got to get away for about 3.5 hours. hee.
So I returned to the office, did some work, waited for 11.30pm, hopped into the mini-van, reached home, had a shower and crashed into bed.
