The letter ‘I’ in the English alphabet is the only other letter apart from ‘A’ that is a proper word on its own. The shape of this loner of a letter even alludes to its meaning of a person. Me, moi and I. Is it by coincidence then, that the words ‘island’ and ‘isolate’ (and its derivatives) begin with the letter ‘I’?
