Oh man, 37 already! I remember at 16, 30+ seemed like eons away. How fast it has come. This morning I woke up to news of the terrorist attacks in Paris. Horrifying. And then it reminds me to give thanks to be in a safe spot in the world. Well, safe for the moment anyway and I hope always. For in this crazy world we live in, we will never know what happens the next minute, hour, day, or year.
But anyway, I give thanks for my family and friends who love me. These people are my rock, even if they are not physically with me all the time. I am thankful for my health and my job (glad to be above the poverty line in HK…it’s tough for many people here).
On this day last year, I was out hiking the entire MacLehose Trail (100km) for the Oxfam Trailwalker. It was a fantastic experience. This year, it’s going to be more subdued. I woke up, did some household chores, and am penning this note before I head out to meet a friend for lunch. After that it’ll be a short afternoon hike with two other friends and dinner with them.
I keep to small groups. Not a big party animal. I’m a low-key kind of person.
Happy birthday to me! 🙂
