I wrote at the end of 2015 that my theme for 2016 would be gratitude. Though I haven’t been diligent in writing about it, I have made it a concerted effort in thinking of something I should be grateful for every day.
I find that this little mental exercise has helped me in being a more contented person and not letting envy turn me into a miserable bitch. It also brings perspective to life in general.
I have realised that gratitude is key to building resilience which is in turn key to surviving life’s disappointments, setbacks and failures.
