Shiatsu Session

I had thought I was in for a relaxing and quiet massage session, but no, I got a rather chatty masseuse who started telling me her life story at regular intervals.
Anyway, this lady whom I surmise is around the same age as my mum (‘cos she has a son one year older than me), starts telling me about how she went to CMPB to make a complain because they didn’t accept her youngest son’s medical cert from the doc. She said that was the third bad thing she has done this year. Then she goes on to tell me other things which I can’t remember now. Ah yes, she kept trying to get me to buy another package for my mum (I was using the package my mum bought). Too bad, I don’t fall for hardsell.
A little while on, she asks me, “When are you getting married?” and I’m like huh? My reply to her was “I don’t have a boyfriend.”
Then 20 minutes later she says, “Your mum will be very happy when you get married. Then she’ll have grandchildren.”
“Ah huh.”
“I thought the Ministry of Community Development got organise some activity where singles meet up? You know like find a partner that kind of thing??”
“Ah…I think that’s the SDU. The Social Development Unit.”
“Heh what? Social Development Unit ah? Yah, yah, I think that’s the one. I got a client who works there and she was telling me about it.”
Like oookkkaayy….It seems that the Singapore government has got all its bases covered when it comes to promoting matrimony. They’ve even engaged masseuses to further their cause! I just thought this lady a little strange, what with the questions and the stuff she was telling me.
Ok, that her massage skills are good I’ll grant her, but I think she talked a little too much. However, I didn’t have the heart to tell her not to talk because she was pretty nice and motherly. I guess I could live with it so I didn’t want to be a bitch.
In any case, the shiatsu massage was good…had some tight muscles loosened, and uncracked the stiffness in the back and neck area. Oh gosh, you should have heard the cccrrraaaccckkk in my bones when she sorta twisted the joint at my neck. But it felt damn shiok (a Singaporean slang to mean it felt really good!) after that. It was as if my bones were set free from some invisible shackles.
Can’t wait for my next session….but maybe a different masseuse next time. Heh.
