Boxes lying in the balcony
Now that I’ve moved into my place, I have the enviable task of unpacking.
I’m still in the process of unpacking all 14 boxes of stuff. I thought I had already purged stuff from my life when I packed up and left Hong Kong. But going through my stuff again now, I’m purging more out of my life.
It’s time again to stave off the sentimentality about things. I have two bags of clothes which I’m planning to take to the charity shop. Another bag has gone to the landfill as they are looking too tired and worn to even take to the charity shop – those aren’t stuff that they would want to resell. If I didn’t bushwalk / hike, I wouldn’t have so many clothes; about 40% of my clothes is sportswear.
As of last night, I’ve managed to unpack all my clothes. At least that’s done. Phew!

Colour coordinated clothes and hangers for neurotic me
And then I also channelled my inner Marie Kondo with the folding and stacking of clothes as seen in the drawers under my bed.

Stacking clothes vertically is the way to go
IKEA storage solutions are great for packing clothes neatly into such drawers. I still have another four more boxes of stuff to go. I’ll get there eventually!
