Q7. Do you have a secret hunch about how you will die?

No, I don’t. But I would hope it would be just due to natural causes i.e. old age. It would be the most fortunate thing to age gracefully with no illnesses and just pass away in one’s sleep.

But I would make sure I draw out a will before my mental faculties start to decline. I would donate all remaining assets to charity, possibly ones that help students from low income families as well as organisations that champion conservation causes.

I have told my sister and closest friends that I would never want to be put on life support; I’m considering getting an Advance Medical Directive and a Do Not Resuscitate order signed. And I’m someone who’s for euthanasia. I’m pro choice and I believe people should have the right to choose how and when to die. It’s their body, their life, their choice.

I have also told my sister and closest friends that I would wish for my ashes to be strewn into the sea. I love travelling and being free to move around. In death, why would I want my ashes to be kept in an urn and trapped in a depressing columbarium? Besides, I don’t have descendents nor am I some famous person, so no one is going to “visit” me. Moreover, why waste money paying for a niche? See, I’m Miss Pragmatic.
