Have been spending the last week of 2019 at the Snowy Mountains, also known as the Australian Alps. I have been here since 26 December and will be counting down to 2020 in a lodge with a bunch of fellow walkers of the bushwalking club I join. It’s my first time in this part of Australia and I’m enjoying seeing a new part of Australia. The place is about 550-600km southwest of Sydney (depending on exactly which part of Kosciusko you are aiming for) and takes about 5.5 hours to drive from Sydney.

Day 2: Walking along the Main Range Track and with an additional up to the summit of Mount Kosciusko, made up about 22km. There was still snow left on the slopes, giving a hint of how this place looks when blanketed in snow in winter. Mount Kosciusko is 2228m above sea level and is the highest point in Australia.

Day 3: Made our way up to Mount Tate (2068m). It was a hard slog up, having to bush bash through shrubs but the views made it worth the effort.
We even had time to catch some cow boys in action!

Day 4: Explored the rock formations at Rams Head North.
