the different morsels of the life of a foodie

Barrenjoey headland

With the bush fires resulting in the closure of many national parks, there are few spots left for bushwalkers in Sydney to explore. Some (somewhat) safe spots left are coastal walks or rock hopping around headlands like what I did today.

Barrenjoey headland is at Palm Beach which is in the northern beaches of Sydney. A cool sea breeze was blowing today and was such a huge contrast to yesterday where the mercury hit 48 degree Celsius! At 9pm the temperature was still 36 degrees. It was the first time I had ever experienced such high temperatures. It was brutal.

I’ve had various friends from Singapore and Hong Kong checking in on me to ask if I’m keeping myself safe from the fires. It’s so nice of them to do so! Thankfully I’ve been lucky, and life is still pretty normal. For now. But I feel almost guilty that life is normal when people in other parts of New South Wales are battling the terrible fires and smoke. Hopefully the weather will bring some rain soon!
