You know it’s Spring in Sydney when you see pops of purple around. The jacaranda trees flower only in Spring and it’s a lovely spectacle. It’s like what pink cherry blossoms are to Japan.

The small, delicate, trumpet-like petals form a purple carpet when they fall. The appearance of jacarandas reminds me of the passing of another year.
I don’t quite know what to make of this year. But I can say I have been lucky that I have been able to keep my job. I’ve gotten used to working from home but am frankly bored with having no one to talk to during the day.
Social isolation shouldn’t be seen as something trivial. It’s a real thing and I have struggled with not being able to see my family and friends in Singapore in person for such a long stretch.

But I try my best to feel gratitude and take delight in little things like the clear blue skies and the beauty that nature brings.
