Once upon a time, three undomestic goddesses (DimSumDolly, Slumbering Girl & olduvai) got together, intending to recharge their feminine powers over a pot of molten dark chocolate. For what better way is there to bond over apart from dipping strawberries, marshmallows, kiwi fruit and banana into that potent liquid?
To prepare for the chocolate feast, the three undomestic goddesses spread out the work. Two cut the fruits, one stood at the stove stirring the chocolate and waiting for it to melt.
The dark chocolate blocks were placed in a small pot, and this small pot was in turn put in a wok filled with water. So the chocolate was melted using a double boil method. We didn’t want to melt the chocolate using direct heat in case it boiled and burnt or something to that effect!
Because Undomestic Goddess #1 (that’s me) forgot to buy cream to smoothen the texture of the melted chocolate, we then decided to use fresh milk as its subsitute. So we added three tablespoons of milk to the chocolate. A few minutes after adding the milk, Undomestic Goddess #3 raises the alarm and points to the chocolate which has by now become so thick like fudge! Definitely not what we had in mind!
Horrors!!! Was that what was to become of our chocolate fondue gathering and the christening of my chocolate fondue set???
But thankfully, the Celestial Mother of Undomestic Goddess #1 came to the rescue and rectified the situation by adding more milk to the chocolate. This time, it turned out right and the three goddesses were very happy.


While waiting for the Celestial Mother to do damage control, the three goddesses decided to have a pseudo campfire. We roasted marshmallows above tealights and started singing campfire songs from secondary school days just for the fun of it. More giggles erupted when several marshmallows caught fire! Haha!


Finally, our chocolate fondue spread! We had marshmallows, kiwi, strawberries and banana.


Ooohh….heavenly, divine dark chocolate. Need I say more???? Well, suffice to say that the three Undomestic Goddesses have now become a little more domesticated when it comes to preparing chocolate fondue. And yes, we had our powers fully recharged! Girl Power!!!
