Rugby Fever’s raging!!!! The Rugby World Cup is slated to begin at 7pm tonight. There’s going to an opening ceremony followed by the opening match between host nation Australia and Argentina. There will be games played all around different cities in Australia, but the most number of games, including the finals will be played in Sydney’s Telstra Stadium at the Olympic Park.
I’ll be leaving home for the Telstra Stadium in 35 minutes’ time with my cousin Tian-Yao. We’ll be taking the train to Homebush which is where the Olympic Park is located. The trains are going to be packed! Many trains from the different lines have been deployed to transport people from the city to Homebush. I’m not looking forward to the squeeze but I’m definitely looking forward to the performances at the opening ceremony and of course the game itself!
To show my support for Australia, I’m wearing a pale olive-green cargo pants, a black top, a bright yellow scarf and a bright yellow beanie (it’s like a ski cap). The jersey colours of the Wallabies, as the Australian team call themselves, are yellow and green. Maybe we’ll buy some Wallabies paraphernalia at the stadium just for the fun of it.
Am feeling more and more excited as the clock ticks…..
It’s kick-off time!!!!
