Some pictures from a short trek I did a few weeks ago with a local group in the Sai Kung country park. This group indulged in a moveable feast as you will see from the pictures below.

Our waterfall for the day

Setting up some shelter at our chosen spot

Then we started getting out all our toys

Someone actually brought an inflatable raft. Crazy I know! And here I am trying to control it but to little avail because of the water’s force.

Our mini barbecue pit! Yes, the guys had lugged the pit, the charcoal and all the food with them.

Pork chop

Traditional Cantonese dessert soup – papaya with snow fungus made with natural spring water! Yes, we literally just took the water from the stream. How cool was that?

Mussels with cheese. Is this gourmet barbecue or what?

Trying out the dessert soup to see if it’s ready

Lamb chops

Leaving the pot of dessert soup to cool down in the cool stream water

Toasted bread…yum yum.
We ate throughout the afternoon…it was as if there was an endless supply of food! There were also chicken wings, fish balls, meat balls, fruits, etc. I was stuffed by the time we were done. So stuffed that I skipped dinner that night. Doing this is great fun though – as long as I’m not the one doing the barbecuing. Haha.
