On a sunny Saturday in the beginning of November, my friends and I went to Chung Hom Kok 舂磡角 & Wong Ma Kok 黄麻角 in the south side of Hong Kong island to do some rock climbing around the boulders that dot the hills.
Chung Hom Kok 舂磡角 & Wong Ma Kok 黄麻角 are very close to the tourist-infested Stanley Market and beach front. I wouldn’t have known such cool spots existed if not for my bunch of local friends who know of these nooks and corners.

Chung Hom Kok 舂磡角 is the area to the right side of Stanley beach. Here we are clambouring up the rocks.

Spot the dog’s head with its snout facing the right!

Our colourful hiking tops stand out against the beautiful blue sky

After lunch we went to Wong Ma Kok 黄麻角, the hills on the left side of Stanley Beach. This is the view of Stanley from the hill we climbed up.

And then I discover a nice spot for a short lay while my friends are busy posing for photos

Can you spot the pig?

I’m sitting on the rhino’s horn!

Seen from this angle, the rhino becomes an elephant.
What a safari we were on! From dogs, pigs, rhinos to elephants – wonder what other “animals” we’ll spot next in our adventures? 🙂
