I’m back! With a whole new look and a new content managment platform I’m still playing around with! So with the help of my friend, R, I’ve now made the switch to WordPress and am now using one of many thousands of free themes that I found online for my revamped blog.

Previously I had been using Movable Type, but now I see why WordPress has become the content management platform of choice. It’s so much easier to customise, there are so many free design templates to choose from, and the interface is extremely user-friendly and intuitive. Movable Type, on the other hand, doesn’t seem to have progressed in making more templates that people can use and making it easier for users to customise their websites. So it’s forever adieu to Movable Type for me.

This new look still needs some tweaking but I’ll get to it. There are so many new things to learn about WordPress and a myriad number of ways to customise the website. But for now, I think this is a good start. It’s a breath of fresh air after being stuck with the same old design for so many years and not really knowing how to go about changing it. I had almost wanted to pay a professional to revamp the site for me (‘cos really, I’m not good with these design stuff). But now, thanks to free template themes, I don’t have to spend that money. Well, I wasn’t really going to part with my money anyway…it seemed a bit too much to spend on something that wouldn’t give me a return on investment!

I was almost getting tired of blogging, having faced more or less the same design all these years. But now, I feel inspired again! And oh, I’ve also updated my ‘About me’ write-up which you can now find by clicking on the link at the top right hand corner. Hope you like the new look too!
