I work near the IFC building in Central now. To avoid the lunch crowds and get a breather, I like heading to the Central ferry pier for a walk. It was at the extreme left end of the pier that I first spotted this old man fishing away at this breezy, shaded spot.

I liked how relaxed he seemed to be, just enjoying the day with a simple activity. Contrast that with the corporate warriors battling it out in the skyscrapers looming behind the pier. The contrast couldn’t be more stark.

I have since spotted this man on many other occasions. I think, he, like me, just wants to get away for a short while from the crazy crowds. But as he continues to fish his day away, I soon have to make my way back to my work station in one of the many skyscrapers in Central.

So many ways to live life huh?
