Tried Speculoos Cookie Butter for the first time thanks to a friend who brought it for me as a gift while he was passing through HK from the US.

Speculoos is a type of spiced shortcrust biscuit that’s traditionally baked in Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. Spices used include cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger, white pepper, and  cardamom.

This cookie butter spread goes well on bread but I find it a tad sweet for me. Nonetheless, it’s a pretty good option when I want a change from peanut butter spread.
