My six-word memoir got featured in the Editor’s Picks today! Haha, cheap thrill! 🙂
Straight off the bat, I can tell you I’m no corporate warrior; I don’t have this burning desire to scale to the top of the corporate ladder. However that doesn’t mean I want to stagnate in my job. I still want to be able to learn new skills and feel like I’m progressing.
While I’m not ambitious in a power hungry sense of the word, that’s not to say I don’t have dreams. It’s just that my dreams don’t have anything to do with the corporate world. I have never really been concerned about building a career and accumulating work experience so much as I have been about chasing life experiences. Perhaps in that sense I have been more “successful” than the average Joe.
However, the reality is that I still need to remain in the corporate world to pay the bills and enable myself to buy more life experiences. At this point in time, work is more a means to an end. Well, I guess it’s important to keep those dreams alive in my heart and have them serve as motivation at work!
