Received a piece of news last Thursday that totally made my day – I was going to be promoted to the next grade in the new financial year!

This is the first time I’ve ever been promoted in a job, and to be promoted after only 13 months on the job makes this even sweeter. Previously I have only ever moved up by moving out, i.e. I switch jobs. It feels really good to have one’s work valued and recognised.
