Q9. For what in your life do you feel most grateful?
I could think of several things here.
1. Health
Everything good starts with a healthy body and mind. It’s when you are sick that you realise that health really is wealth. I think we owe it to ourselves and our loved ones to stay healthy. That’s why I don’t smoke and I hardly ever drink. Both activities not only harm, but also are a complete waste of money.
2. Family and close friends
I have family and friends that are supportive and know I can count on. It’s comforting to know that.
3. Having been born in Singapore
I’m grateful that I was born in a country where girls and women are given equal opportunities to everything. As a result my female friends and I are educated and can earn our own living. Being born in a peaceful country which has leapfrogged her way into a developed nation is pure good luck. It’s a lot more fortunate than what many other people in this world have and I’m definitely grateful for it.
4. Opportunity to travel
I have been fortunate to have had the chance to live and work in other countries, and have also travelled to many other parts of the world. I love travelling and seeing how other cultures live, trying the foods they eat, and experiencing their transport system etc. I think the opportunity to travel is what motivates me at work.
