Q11. Take four minutes and tell your partner your life story in as much detail as possible.
What would I include in four minutes? I guess I would mention the following:
- I was born and bred in Singapore.
- My immediate family comprises my parents and a younger sister.
- I always knew that I wanted to travel and see the world.
- I went to school in Singapore – primary and secondary school, junior college and university.
- Then I did a postgraduate diploma in TESOL in a university in Sydney.
- Went back to Singapore, worked for three years as an English textbook editor and decided I wanted to see more of the world.
- I quit my job and went to London on a working holiday visa. Spent seven months in Europe and decided it wasn’t quite the place for me.
- Returned to Singapore and spent 1.5 years back home before the travel itch came again.
- I found a job online, had a phone interview and next thing I knew, I moved to Hong Kong! Spent seven years in Hong Kong and then decided it was time to leave.
- And now I’ve moved to Sydney where I’ve been for the past 1.5 years.
