A quick one from me….Was watching “Amazing Race 4” last night and this was the episode where the remaining four teams were in Korea. (Australia’s kinda slow in its programming…the rest of the world has finished watching it and we’re still in the midst of the race!)
Anyway, I was really annoyed with something Chip (one half of the gay couple team) said. Just ‘cos the Korean taxi driver didn’t speak any English, and he had a lot of problems communicating with the driver, Chip commented frustratingly after he got out of the cab that, “He doesn’t speak any English. He should not get any money!”.
Goodness. What an appalling comment. True, it might be said out of frustration, but it’s just so presumptious that everyone in this world should speak English just ‘cos Americans do so. Ok, I’m stereotyping Americans here, but a lot of them seem to be like that!
Anyway, I need to rush off now….another lesson to teach! Wish me luck!
