Some pics from my canyoning trip to Macquarie Pass National Park, which is about 1.5 hours’ drive south of Sydney’s city centre. It’s a park filled with a series of waterfalls and rock pools and just a wonderful natural water park altogether. According to my friends, it was only because of the rains we had a few weeks ago that has turned it into an aqua theme park. Usually it’s much drier, so I guess I was really lucky!

The first and longest drop of the day at about 30m. There was so much water and we abseiled down on the right side of the falls. Still we got soaked!

This was only a 6m drop but it was over an overhang. The force of the water caused us to drop straight into the water just as we went over the overhang.

We didn’t have belays on this canyoning trip as it was impossible to belay someone in the water. So we had to go down on our own – definitely not one for beginners!
