Sydney had some glorious weather over the weekend and I spent most of last Saturday and Sunday outdoors.
Sunday was spent at City2Surf, the iconic run that starts at Hyde Park and ends at the world-famous Bondi Beach. There were massive crowds at the starting line and everyone was in good spirits.
There was a festive mood in the air and there were many people cheering the participants along the scenic route. Brass bands, jazz bands, rock bands, drummers and all sorts of musicians took the opportunity to give a performance. It was all really good fun!
I also came across a blow-up Merlion and so, being Singaporean, I had to take a picture with it. Singapore Airlines is one of the major sponsors so there was a stretch along the route where Singapore Airlines had put up some banners.
I walked the entire 14km with a friend and had fun stopping at scenic spots to snap a picture of Sydney at her finest and best.
We crossed the finish line after 2h 39min of walking and proceeded to walk another 3km to Bronte (instead of queueing for the shuttle bus) for a well-deserved lunch at a cafe.
Definitely an event worth doing for any Sydneysider!
