Fame

Q2. Would you like to be famous? In what way?

I think fame can come in different forms. Let’s start with the bad. The bad form, in my opinion, would be the kind that applies to the Kardashians or wannabes from trashy reality shows the likes of The Bachelor. I wouldn’t want to be known to the world in that way.

If I’m to be famous, I want it to be because of a talent, skill or an area of specialist knowledge that I possess. For example, being a famous writer like JK Rowling. Or being recognised like Roger Federer for being a tennis maestro. There is real skill and hard work involved in getting to where they are now and I admire that.

I would like to be famous for those reasons and use my fame for philanthropy and the advocacy of charitable and environmental causes. Fame can be put to good uses in those ways.

But if asked would I rather be famous or wealthy, I’d choose the latter. I’m a low key person and prefer to stay out of the spotlight. But if fame led to wealth (though it’s not necessarily always the case), then alright, I’d take the two. After all, it’s just a means to an end.
