Most treasured memory

Q17. What is your most treasured memory?

I can’t pinpoint one particular memory but some treasured highlights would be:

  1. Travelling with my parents and sis when we were younger. I think we haven’t travelled as a family in more than 25 years.
  2. My first day in London when I went there on a working holiday visa. It was scary and exciting at the same time. I think that marked the turning point in my life where I knew I could spread my wings beyond Singapore.
  3. My first day upon relocating to Hong Kong. Again, scared shitless yet was exhilarated. Hong Kong turned out to be the city I would thrive in. I now have a lifelong love affair with the city.
  4. Crossing the line at the Oxfam Trailwalker in Hong Kong. I had trained for six months for this 100km event.
  5. Seeing the sakuras (cherry blossoms) in Kyushu with my mum. The beauty of thousands of pale pink petals raining down as the wind blew through the trees was breathtaking.
  6. Watching what must have been more than 100 hot air balloons go up in the air, with me and a good friend in one of them, at sunrise in Cappadocia, Turkey.
  7. Enjoying the solitude and quiet in the vast, open plains of Mongolia with two friends I was travelling with.
